How to set up a multifunction device or application to send email using Office 365....AKA relay
Steps
- Create an email account and password for relay purposes on your Office 365 server or Active Directory server.
- Go to your application/appliance/device which needs to send email and configure with the following SMTP settings:
- Email "From Address": (email that you would like to see when the device sends notifications)
- Outbound SMTP server: smtp.office365.com
- Outbound SMTP Username: (Email address from step 1 above)
- Outbound SMTP Password: (Password from step 1 above)
- Outbound SMTP Port: 587
- Connection Encryption: STARTTLS
